As
a boutique firm, we are able to concentrate our work on a select
list of clients which allows us to provide the highest quality
of work for those that put their trust in our work for their
organizational services. The philosophy of our firm is to limit
the number of clients in order to provide in-depth service and
attention leading not only to success in attaining immediate
goals but also to the development of strong public relations,
community awareness, governmental representation and grassroots
mobilization to support those efforts.

experience, specialization and expertise benefits the groups
we work with through access to contacts, strong strategy development
and follow though for your program and transference of inertia
to your group which will keep our efforts going well into the
future. Here's a little bit more about us and our experience:
KEN
ARMSTRONG
has 20 years of experience working with the Oregon Legislature.
Previous to the establishment of Armstrong Public Affairs &
Communications, Mr. Armstrong served as Executive Director of
the Oregon Public Ports Association and prior to that as Special
Projects Manager for the Port of St. Helens. He has worked as
editor of a weekly newspaper, and is a journalism graduate of
the University of Oregon. Ken's governmental affairs experience
includes working with all aspects of the legislative process,
including helping clients identify and develop legislative agendas,
developing strategies to accomplish legislative objectives and
tracking objectives through the process to completion (e.g.,
either passage or defeat of specific legislation). Ken has years
of experience working on both legislative policy concepts and
budget packages resulting in not only funding for clients but
also a more well defined voice within the entire budget process.
NICOLE
ARMSTRONG holds a B.A. in Sociology from
Willamette University and has served as Interim Executive Director
of the Friends of the Children Oregon Initiative. She came to
Friends from Saturday Academy, a science and math enrichment
program, where she served as Program Manager. Nicole has also
worked with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as Oregon
Director of Development and Public Relations and served on the
Komen Portland Race for the Cure Executive Committee. She was
chosen as a Leadership Fellow by the Kellogg Fellowship Program
and graduated with her MBA from George Fox University in May
2004 where she was invited to be an adjunct professor in public
relations and communications. Nicole’s expertise lies
in developing effective and innovative strategies for specific
goals related to increasing income, developing new funding streams,
revising statute in order to meet priorities of the entities
she has represented. This experience includes creation of legislative
strategy locally and federally, developing grassroots campaigns
and strategy to support those legislative efforts and providing
research, monitoring and analysis of political affairs, issues,
legislative opinions and political and regulatory activity for
purposes of government relations strategy.
